The Swana Cut is a variation of the round brilliant diamond cut created and patented by Swana Diamonds. It’s marketed with the tagline Perfection of a Star

Whereas the more common round brilliant cut typically has 57 facets, the Swana cut splits some of these to create a diamond with 89 facets. All the diamonds sold by Swana originate in Botswana and only one in fifty of those mined are suitable for the Swana Cut.

Producing a Swana cut diamond takes a month of cutting and polishing. The result is a stone that the company describes as being of “unprecedented, unparalleled brilliance”.
